How To Bring Christmas Cheer To Your Front Door

Are you someone who decorates for the holidays? Do you have Hanukkah and Christmas decorations throughout your house? Do you have lighted reindeer plastered in the front yard? You do not have to be an overachiever in decorating to join in on the holiday spirit. Blinding your neighbors with holiday lights strung across every inch of your yard is not necessary. However, it is nice to add a little decorating to the front door of the house. It will automatically put your guests into the Christmas spirit before they even ring your doorbell. Here are a few ideas to help you out on how to decorate your front door for the holidays.

One way to decorate your front door is the traditional holiday wreath. Whenever a wreath appears on front doors in America it is an instant sign that Christmas is approaching ensuring it is an option that never goes out of style. Ready-made wreaths are available in your local stores, such as Target, Lowe’s and Home Depot making it an easy decorating task to tackle for the holidays. If you prefer to choose from an unique wreath selection, then choose to create a wreath yourself. Visit your local crafts store for materials. Check out the internet for ideas, instruction and inspiration. Invite friends over and make it a holiday tradition where everyone helps in making the wreath. The important thing is that it exhibits the holiday spirit and any of the wreath ideas complete that task successfully.

If a wreath is not your style or does not sound appealing to you then replace it with a Christmas stocking. The stocking can be one the kids made in school or an elaborate vintage design. It may be covered in jewels with jewel tone accents reflecting a formal table setting being utilized inside the house for holiday parties. If you prefer something less formal, then choose a kid-friendly design with the Christmas red and white trim. Furthermore, why not place presents coming out of the stocking. Consider drawing, cutting and painting some extra cardboard to resemble small gifts and fasten to the top of stocking so it looks like the stocking is overflowing with presents. This is a great front door decoration idea. Either way the stocking is a great way to decorate the front door without using a wreath.

Wrapping paper is the most common option when decorating your front door for Christmas. It is a decorating choice people have been repeatedly executing. Jazz it up by using foil paper resulting in the door is visible when viewed from the driveway. An alternative is use large print wrapping paper designs, so it is immediately noticeable upon approach. Many people use double stick tape to create this effect. However, if your door is located in an area where wind and cold may move the wrapping paper, then consider using thumbtacks and/or small nails. It will help keep the wrapping paper from being blown away.
